Time For a Change...and some crying!!!

So, I've been feeling like cutting my hair for a while now and decided to stop thinking and just do it! I  finally got up the guts and made an appointment. I would keep explaining in words but I think some of these pictures speak for themselves!
Step 1: She didn't even hesitate when she cute straight through my hair...good but also freaked me out. WOW that's a lot of hair!!!

I'm pretty sure all I said was "Wow, that really different!" when I left and made it to the car before I started balling my brains out!!! NOT at all what I had pictured and it looked NOTHING like the pictures I showed her of what I wanted. Poor Taylor didn't know what to do. So I cried A LOT that night and the next morning while trying to get ready for work. It was bad. I was shocked at how short my bangs were and the funky way she layered my hair.

Well, after adding my own cuts here and there to my hair this morning I finally felt a little better about how I looked. At school everyone was so nice! I got so many compliments. Kids I taught choreography to during the Christmas musical came up to me out of nowhere to give me a hug and tell me how much they like my new haircut. I've decided its not too bad, I actually do like it short even if I don't really love the way she cut it. I'll find someone better next time!!!

Oh and this might be part of the reason why I was so unhappy this morning. Adding 2 more inches to my hair would have made a big difference! I don't know how she mis measured but 10 inches is all that I asked for and is needed for Locks of Love. I probably shouldn't have measured it because it just made me cry more!

 HERE IS MY STUDENTS PERSPECTIVE:
(I didn't tell them I was getting it cut)

ACUAL EVENTS:
"Why is your hair darker now that its shorter? It's like Rapunzel when she gets her hair cut off in the movie. Can we call you Rapunzel now?"

I felt a little more sassy after today...thank goodness!!! Time to rock the short hair!!!

Lately...

So I found this really cool cardigan at the mall! I love Dr. Who stuff! If it actually fit me and wasn't gigantic I totally would have bought it because it is so cool!
We had so much fun overnight babysitting Connor. Tyler and Jessica spent the night away for their anniversary and we got to play house with this crazy, cute kid! My favorite part was how confused this kid was in the morning. He wasn't quiet awake and neither were we since we're not use to an early alarm on Saturday mornings, so we put him in bed with us for a bit. It took him like 5 minutes to realize that we weren't his parents. As soon as he figured that out he got all shy and with a tiny giggle waved good morning at Taylor. It was pretty cute!
Totally reminds me of Emilee and salsa!!!

I love this silly kid and am glad I get to live so close.
So, my car got hit by a flying object on the way to work. It scared the living daylights out of me! The first thing I did was call my husband while balling my brains out. Yeah, he got freaked out because I couldn't really explain things well between sobs! What happened was a landscape company was working along the side of the road and right as I passed them something hit my passenger window HARD! It sounded like a gunshot! Glass ended up on my seat and in my driver's side door panel. Luckily I didn't get cut! It was possibly the worst day to be late to work but I felt so blessed by the way things worked out.

The guys edging and mowing were big, fat JERKS! I couldn't believe how rude they were to me. They acted like it was my fault the window broke and there was not possible way they could have caused it. Luckily their manager was a little more reasonable and was willing to pay for it to be fixed. AND it actually was able to be fixed later that day which was amazing. You know, crap happens sometimes but the Lord is always looking out for us!

Family Year Book

I have loved creating these cute picture scrapbooks! They are so easy and pretty well priced when I find groupons for them. This is the third book I've made of mine and Taylor's experiences. I made one for our dating and engaged experiences, one for our wedding, and now this one for our first year of marriage. I'm also creating our 2014 book as the year is going on so January and February are finished. I love reliving our adventures through these awesome books and can't wait to continue making them :) We loved all of our fun experience with all of you during 2013 and I thought I would show off some of those fun time!

Day of Love

I know this is a little late but I figured it was still ok to post. Also, mom told me to get a picture of my curled hair so you guys could see. I figured this accomplishes that as well so why not!
To start things off we had a crazy, messy, but fun party at school. I was in charge of the mustache station. You should have seen the poses my students had with the mustaches, they thought they were SO cool! It was cute! (here you see my none lazyness because I curl my hair quite often, at least once a week)
All of the yummy ingredients for our Valentines Day dinner. I love our bread maker!

Our yummy pizza after cooking. Don't judge the bite mark
looking piece, there was too much dough and when I pulled
it off it looked like a bite mark!

Our yummy pizza before it went into the oven!

Now onto enjoying what we made! Yes we are
silly and take lots of food pictures but I think
it is so much fun! I'm lucky to have this sweet
boy in my life!

Birthdays at School are Fun!!!

A few cards, a purple pixie stick, 2 rubber band bracelets (those popular
things that don't fit me), a giant Hershey's Kiss, a Hershey's bar, a manicure
kit, cook book, chocolates taped to a card, Hawaiian Punch drink mix ins, a
hostess ding dong, a car piggy bank (left at school), and lotion (left at school).
When students find out its your birthday (or almost your birthday) they can't help but want to bring you something. Anything. Even if its just a pixie stick.   :) They are hilarious! Well today I got a bundle of cute little....and not so little gifts!
OH, and I can't forget this giant heart cut from plywood and spray painted white and hot pink! I must totally rock if he made me this and wrote right in the middle, "Mrs. Moore You rock" Yeah...I am that cool! Can I just say, I LOVE MY JOB! They make turning 26 not so bad!!!

Coolest Teacher Costume...At Least I Think So

Halloween is such a fun, big, exciting thing for elementary students. And of course being a cool teacher and all I have to keep up by having a totally awesome costume. My students loved it and called me Ms. Frizzle all day. I probably had the coolest costume (out of the teachers).

For those of you who don't know who Ms. Frizzle is...you
should! We watch the educational movie, The Magic
School Bus (staring Ms. Frizzle) all the time at school. She
has a fun way of taking her students on crazy field trips that
teach them about all types of science concepts. My students
and most students LOVE it.

Hair Cut

Totally freaked out after I left the salon because my hair felt so freaking short!!! And after coming home and looking at it I discovered it was so freaking short...compared to what it used to be! I like it but it definitely was not what I expected.
Pretty sure she cut off more like 7 or 8 inches rather than the 4 to 5 I asked for.

Being Crafty While Off Track

School Fun...Yeah I'm a Pretty Cool Teacher

So we had this random dumb day where we went off track on a Tuesday. I felt like it was going to be a waste of a day with very few students. So I decided to bribe them to come to school for an "awesome activity". All but 1 showed up. The day started off with me explaining that my friends "Mr. and Mrs. Valentine", who I told the students the day before would be helping with our fun activity, had something bad happen last night. I told them that the police came and sectioned of an area in the classroom until they could determine what happened and that they could look but not cross the caution tape. This is what they saw when they came in....

They had fun being detectives and answering questions to help them determine what happened, "of course no violence" ;) Then they wrote a creative story about what they think happened last night.

Then we had some fun  with some fingerprinting
activities. First we  took our own fingerprints and
determined what type of fingerprint we had. Then
we shared some of our fingerprints with our friends
so they could determine our fingerprint type.

Then they were able to brush cocoa powder on plastic covers to find the fingerprints that were already on them. And to top it off we watched The Great Mouse Detective. I'd say it was a success!

Fun Married Activities

We bought this cool Disney picnic basket at a garage sell. It was fun to use it to picnic and read some books in the summer sun!

Then it was Fall pumpkin patch fun! Unfortunately the only picture of both of us turned out terrible...not sure what the dude was doing!
