Festivals & Fun!

I feel so bad for posting the last 3 and now this post.  Oh well, I guess I'm just in a posting kind of mood. . .

Tyler and I really like to get out of the house on Saturdays.  Especially when it's summer and the weather is so nice.  Winter will be here before we know it.  And so will the cold and snow which means no one wants to leave the house : /

Anyway - - - I have discovered that if I don't do any research on things to do, we always end up doing something like eating out at a restaurant.  There is nothing wrong with that, but it does tend to get a little old. You are guaranteed to spend at least 30 dollars and all you do is eat. So I decided to look online a few weekends ago for something to do.  What did I discover? OH MY FESTIVALS!

It is ridiculous how many festivals this state has toward the end of summer!  I couldn't believe it.  They have occupied several of our weekends as of late.  It has been great!

The first was The Oktoberfest at Snowbird

I'm still trying to become the camera crazy mother that takes photos of everything.  I'm not quite there, but this will do for now I suppose.  Tyler made Connor and I get a photo with this little prop.  I love it but I also feel like it's a little creepy.  For instance, Connor is an old man that has his hand on my waist-ish area.  It could be a little questionable if it was a little farther back.  And my lady is rather busty. . . a little awkward. It was either this or one with children.  I don't know why Tyler insisted on this one, I think he told me I was too old for the other one. Ha, rude.

Ash decided that she wanted to come with us so we picked her up on the way.  It was so nice to be able to have a little outing with her.

I told Tyler we should dress up next year like this family.  Connor will be in boy attire though.  And I won't be as old as that lady.

Next festival was Swiss Days!  Unfortunately, we got there, ate and then got rained out.  So we ended up going home right after eating.  The only photo I snapped was Niki's dog Loafie when he fell asleep in the car.  Nice face right?
The final festival was Peach Days!

I don't know why, but this festival was the one that started my obsession with festivals.  I have been wanting to go to Peach Days F-O-R-E-V-E-R.  I was thinking that it would be a festival that sold peach everything; peach mayonnaise, ice cream and peach flavored pickles.  But it was just a normal festival.  They had regular food, little tents set up up homemade goods, and surprisingly, no peach stands! I was pretty bummed.  It was a very nice day though.
Connor wore his new hat.  He was so cute! I think he is starting to look more and more like Daddy everyday!
This guy made the coolest little train out of an ATV and painted oil drums that had wheels on them.  I wish Connor was older so that he could go in it.  We should make Dad get some oil drums and make a train for the backyard.  We could use the lawn mower. :)
Connor had his first picnic! He didn't eat, of course.  But he laid on his blanket in the grass and looked up at the trees for the first time.  It amazes me that the little things that I take for granted, he still hasn't experienced. He liked it a lot.

Our spoils from Peach Days! We got the cutest little hat, a bag of peaches (we found a guy on the side of the road selling them about a block or so away, lol) and a jar of blackberry jam! Delish! We had such a good time.  We've had a blast every weekend.  We are one lucky family.

Just in case you didn't get a good enough look at this cute mug . . .

  1. Ok, so you can NEVER post too much!! Especially of that little guy! He is definately a hat boy!! He looks adorable! I think we need to buy lots and lots of hats :). I need to get some of those photos so I can add them to my wall. I'm glad you are taking advantage all the festivals.

  2. Oh my gosh...first of all your little boy is soooo fricken cute! And second, I am so completely jealous that you got to go to peach days!! Wes grew up in brigham city and I have always wanted to go to peach days there. Did you go all the way up there or is there another city that has peach days?
